The 1619 Project
The New York Times

Launching The 1619 Project during the Oscars.

A film to promote Nicole Hannah-Jones’ acclaimed 1619 Project - a Pulitzer prize-winning piece of journalism that explores How Slavery Shaped America. The campaign centres around Janelle Monae reading the opening words of the project standing at Point Comfort, Virginia - the same place the first enslaved Africans came to this continent.
